Most people would choose a Chiropractor after they have been everywhere else, from the general practitioner, physiotherapist, masseur, orthopedic specialist or rheumatologist. So, why is that?
Well, being in practice for 40 years I have listened to many an explanation.
The general practitioner sees more people for back pain than for any other condition. Yet, he doesn’t send you to a Chiropractor, but, instead sends you to a physiotherapist, orthopaedic surgeon, or rheumatologist.
The general practitioner has an antipathy to Chiropractors because he has been told by professional rumors of philosophical differences in health. That is correct.
Chiropractors believe a Thomas Eddison (Inventor of the light globe) quote. “The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease”.
This quote does not agree with standard medical models. Whilst it sounds logical and reasonable to everyone, I assure you that it’s not a popular quote in medical circles.
The care of the human frame specifically the spine is so important for general health. The nerves from the spine travel to all parts of the body to turn on function including the organs. The spinal nerves are the telephone cables from the brain.
Any interruptions need to be evaluated and corrected.
